I first read this book two years ago. Having loaned a friend my copy (and instantly regretting it) I hastily bought another copy so I could reread it before watching the television adaptation. A lover of Downton Abbey and costume dramas, this book doesn't disappoint. The story is pacey, the characters well written making for an thoroughly engaging 'can't put down' book. I recommend it wholeheartedly!I first read this book two years ago.
