Maybe it's my circuits but...
It took me a while and 2 calls to BT technical to discover why these are different to the usual mains WiFi extenders - apparently they are more powerful so act effectively as a slave hub serving a whole area of your house and not just a single room. Given that my house has 70cm thick stone walls, I can't get a signal from the hub into my extension - this seemed the perfect solution. However, in my experience it doesn't seem any more powerful than the standard extender plug I previously bought, it costs a good deal more and seems to spend most of it's time with the data light indicating slow data transfer. It is on a different ring circuit to my hub but that's not supposed to matter (and it doesn't work at all on the garage circuit which is just a spur from the main consumer unit so ...
