Arrived on time, in a box with padding. Very happy with this. Seller kindly accepted my offer of a slightly lower price, as I bought several items together. It's clearly a larger than 30ml pot being used for the product, probably a 50ml, but it clearly states 30ml on the label - this is from the manufacturer, not down to the seller - as it wasn't full when I opened it; absolutely no evidence of the product being used, & I compared the size with other items also of 30 ml.

    Not for me

    Not really a gadget person so didn't like this, although I liked the IDEA of this. It is good if you want to grind beans and make an immediate one cup, but drawbacks are - too many parts to wash up, only makes one cup at a time unless you clean it in between, and lights came on to indicate it needs cleaning after cup #3. There is nothing wrong with it and the shop were excellent at very fast delivery and good price, but I am better suited to a cafetiere and a separate grinder. Less trouble.

    Electrically Dangerous Design

    If you accidentally over-fill this machine, there is an overflow hole where the water runs out - at the back of the machine, where you can't see it. Worse still, the water runs directly onto the electrical cable which attaches to the machine below the overflow hole. Ours was plugged in below the machine so the water ran down the cable and into the plug socket. This is Not Good. On inspecting the instructions, the safety part says to only plug in the machine once it has been filled - but this is on a different page from the instructions for how to use the machine, so it is easy to miss, for example if one person sets the machine up and then someone else goes to use it. I can see the point of the overflow hole, but why position it (a) somewhere invisible and (b) where the water can run down ...

    Not quite perfect but pretty close.

    I use this every day, got it second hand and a year later, it's still going strong. It doesn't keep the carafe warm so you'll need a thermos to keep the coffee in - drinking one real-sized cup leaves enough to exactly fill a 1L thermos and, due to the rising steam, you will have to wash and dry the grinder every single time. Overall, though, I'm very happy with it and recommended it to my brother. Maybe not quite as good as I expected but my expectations were probably unreasonably high and it's excellent for the price. Putting in an isolated burr grinder, carafe heater and better insulated carafe would probably quadruple the price so I can live without them. Oh, and the timer feature is good for those early morning starts.
