    Full sized tower with good upgrade potential

    These machines are widely used in office and business environments, the OptiPlex machines are what made Dell what it is today. They are well built machines with lots of room inside to add or upgrade components. This model will support up to 16GB RAM, the motherboard will support an i7, and of course you can add a more powerful graphics card, add a RAID array, SSD and so on. So, yes a great desktop computer and a good price.

    Does well enough for general home use, but drops the time settings every time we get a power issue in the home. maybe can be sorted with a new backup battery.

    If I did not know.

    I was suprised to see this out of the wrapping. It was absolutlly pristine. And could have been taken for new. On removing the side cover it was again in this condition. On firing up it was fast as my dual quad core 490 precision Dell and I have not found 1 fault. When it is considered it is under 25% of the size of the 490. Extremely pleased. My only regret is no parallel output as I have a laser printer and no drivers . However other ways have now been found. Peter.
