The sound can be switched off option is in the manual and Eco mode is useful to save on your electric. Prior to purchase I read mixed reviews on other sites but glad I took the chance.     lots of good points. but.

    for the price it's good value for what you get. the problem is the lack of light when using it, the interior bulb is so dim, you have to keep opening the door whilst it's running to make sure that any liquid you maybe boiling or re-heating isn't bubbling over. real shame, because apart from that it's a great microwave/grill.
