    Surface Book "Cracked Screen"

    For someone who likes a laptop style but occasionally also has use for a tablet for annotation and drawing this device looks perfect on paper. But how did I get on buying a device that had a "Cracked Screen"? The answer is that I have yet to feel any negative impact - the device works perfectly and I guess the only downside is cosmetically it isn't perfect - but the trade off price wise has left me with a big grin on my face! When the machine is on the cracked screen is not actually visible and so far it has not impacted any annotation or art/drawing that I have done - perhaps I was lucky and more severe damage might render the device less usable? I don't intend to offer a full tech review as that has been done elsewhere (and probably in more depth than I would care to go in to!) but ...

    The best

    The best laptop I have used or seen - cool design, light, fast, touch-screen with stylus, screen detaches as tablet, easy charger and charging dock plug-in, dock can be set up with second screen as well as keyboard, DVD, mouse etc. Sometimes gets "confused" about screen resolution when docking or undocking, but otherwise trouble-free.

    You have to get the i7 version!

    The i7 version of the Surface Book is a real monster of a machine. You can do anything you would on a desktop and then some. Add the tablet feature and the pen and it is a win win situation. The only concern I personally had was protection against damage. If you drop this machine, it won't fall apart but it will undoubtedly end up scathed and badly bruised.
