This item did not fit our Dyson V8M (the shank has a diameter of 35 mm where 40 mm is required). Contacted seller, received 2 automated replies but no answer to my question (do I need an adapter?). Finally, as we need this tool I modified it to fit, cannibalising an unwanted tool to achieve this. We now have an operational stubborn dirt brush. Photo of modified tool attached. Nothing wrong with the quality of the tool, just the wrong size.
