If you want a powerline network extender that works, get this one.

Absolutely brilliant. In the past, I had used TP-LINK products to extend my internet connection over the power lines to my room in the house. No matter which TP-LINK product I used, they all had the same problem... constant disconnects and SLOW speeds. The disconnects would require switching off the mains where the adapter was connected and switching them back on to reestablish a connection. This happened every 15-20 minutes. Their customer service was useless as they blamed in on my house wiring nd basically refused to help any further. So I purchased the Magic 2 starter kit. Plugged in the two adapters and after a few minutes they connected to each other. The manual says three minutes but it wasn't that long. Since then, not a single disconnect and the link speed is 1300 Mbits/Sec. ...

  • Fiddly initial setup, but rock solid performer and good coverage.

Was fiddkly to set up compared with other Powerline adapters, and in the end I had to use the manual pairing method. However, once set up it made a massive difference, achieving speeds of over 1GB on the LAN, WiFi signal is strong and reliable, and hasn't caused issues with my Virgin Media Hub despite cloning the SSID on both 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz. It was rather more expensive than other Powerline products, but manages to give me something close to a MESH system without buying a new router ot triple-band access points etc. i've left the rapid handover option switched off as I have quite a lot of older WiFi products that wouldn't be compatible, but most kit still connects to whichever signal is the strongest without issue. (i.e. from my Router or from the WiFi / Powerline adapter) I ...

  • Devolo magic 1/2 powerline plugs

These devices are expensive especially if you need several of them. Buying used devices was my only option. I use 3 magic 2 wifi next 2400 where it is needed and magic 1 Lan 1-1 1200 where single Ethernet is enough for example getting our cctv online and a Now TV box in a separate room, so including plug connected to the router I have 6 devices. Notably they are much faster than the previous DLan 1200, 500, 200 mix I had but still nowhere near the advertised speeds, but I didn't expect that. Based on our large house with complex mains wiring I'm happy with devolo magic 1/2 wifi and lan plugs. I've tried another brand on wifi 6 from and they were returned, so large houses, complex wiring then I recommend devolo magic or dlan, with small properties, I guess, you have more choice.

  • Fantastic product. Highly recommended. Solid, stable connection in old house.

I did not believe the hype and seen some negative reviews. Being in an old house with bad wiring sockets and on the opposite side to the internet hub I wasn't sure this would actually work better than my low signal WIFI. Pros: - I've had this for a few months and never had to reset or re-sync. - Very fast performance (from 26mb/sec to over 116mb/sec - (that's bits not bytes) - Reliable and no need to have WIFI on my desktop. - Nice pass-through design so you can still use the socket - I have not seen any problems with washing machine or microwaves being used (my old WIFI often dropped) Cons; - The setup took about 5-10 minutes (mostly waiting for the flashing lights to be the correct status. - The manual could be a little bigger and easier to read (they have one side with diagrams and ...

  • Works as good as any CAT5/6 cabled connection

Tried Powerline adapters when they first came out, and the were quite poor and ropey. These new ones are startlingly good They easily maintain my full broadband speed of 78Mb even though I have a hub attached to the second adapter with 3 PC's, a network drive and several other network devices. Works as good as any CAT5/6 cabled connection.
