    Everything just works so smoothly.

    Whilst this is a refurbished camera it might as well be new. At only £135 it’s a bargain. Everything on it just works. Zoom and snap back particularly impressive. The quality of shots so far flattering the user. I think I’m going to get a mini tripod and do some time lapse. Still lots of features to explore on it.

    Reasonable High Zoom Digital Camera

    These are refurm but mine has lttle sign of use only a small mark on the LCD screen which does not effect the camera, one thing people may want to know is that filters for the P500 can only be used if yoy purchase a lens tube which fits over the lens, this is due to the fact that the zoom lens protrudes when used and there is no thread on the zoom lens for attaching filters, if attached to the lens cover thread the zoom cannot operate. Picture quality and features are excellent but if like me you are used to having a digital filter to protect your lens the lens tube makes for a very bulky add on. Also be aware many items being advertised which state they will fit a Nikon Coolpix P500 don't, i purchased a camera case and a filter and neither fitted, both supplier's very helpful and i got a ...

    Very useful photo companion when you do not want to take a DSLR with you

    This is an perfect camera when you do not want to take a DSLR with you. It is very light,ideal for walking, has a fine optical zoom and picture quality is good. You need support when using telephoto at long range but that would apply to any camera with a superzoom. With the price falling, now a later model is introduced, the P 500 is an excellent choice.

    First and last Nikon I will ever buy.

    Used the P500 for 6 months now. VERY disappointed. EXTREMELY POOR low light video. MUST be outdoors in bright sunshine for video. During video you cannot zoom as on it's competitors. Stabilization is also VERY POOR. When zooming you better be on a tripod or your photos and video will be unusable. Microphone cannot handle loud noises. It is overpowered and all you hear is a click. DO NOT USE before covering the rear screen with screen protector. It is VERY delicate and will be scratched just by putting it in a case. Overall, I think the camera is not worth buying, and is an insult for Nikon to even market such a poor camera with such hype.

    An ideal buy for amateur or keen hobbyist!

    I bought this camera because my wife and I have 6 or 7 a year in the UK and we want to keep a record of some of the beautiful places we visit. Being senior citizens we wanted something that was easy to use and that would take good quality photographs even for a pair of amateurs. This certainly fits the bill. Easy to use in auto mode, simply point and shoot, with extremely good quality results. The zoom quality is incredible, and can result in some very close-up shots that might otherwise not be possible. Transferring the results to my computer is very easy, as is printing the selected photos. All in all, an ideal camera for our requirements.
