This camera is much smaller and lighter than the D3 and has most of the performance features of the D4. The SD card is, so far as I am concerned an advantage over the compact flash card, but I miss the two card feature of some of the other Nikons. As a camera it does everything that I would expect of it, functioning well with some of my very early Nikon lenses, which are some 40 years old, as well as the latest generation of lenses. I have been using Nikon SLRs since 1970, including all of the professional film and digital models. This is certainly my favourite digital camera and when using it I am fondly reminded of my old F3. I would recommend it to any serious photographer.
