I am sorry but i don't understand what is happening to the playing cards if you are tearing them, but that is not what they are used for. If using the cards to play card games, there will be no issue with these tearing at all.

If you shuffle traditionally don't buy!!!
The cards are a good size but horrendously slippy to handle. You can't do a traditional shuffle and if you riffle they fly all over the place!!!!
