Connects via Bluetooth device, not as a normal firestick remote. Slightly different and the connection method of pressing a combination of buttons doesn't actually work, you have to go into the setup in the firestick menu, which you have to do using your phone or another remote. Also, connects and disconnects constantly when watching the tele so I remove the batteries to get rid of the pop up message on the screen.

I bought two remotes , I couldn’t get the remotes to pair with my firestick(s) I have two 1st gen firesticks , but when I tried to pair with my stepdaughters 3rd gen firestick the remotes worked fine so I know the remotes are not at fault . Even though the remotes are specifically for 1st generation firesticks. I will keep them as spares as I have ordered two 4K 3rd gen firesticks lol .But postage was fast and packaging was good .
