Durable, attractive, great sounding studio headphone built to last.
Beyer DT 250's are a great tracking headphone, that I use for recording. It is also great for listening to music per se, It has a little more/better low end than the classic Dt100 and I think is more attractive and comfortable with over ear velour pads. This headphone along with others in the DT range is completely modular with any and all parts repairable/replaceable. They will last and when a part wears out i.e ear pads, headband etc. you can order them and refit. I have an old pair that must be over 12 years old, I have replaced the cable, the ear pads and headband pad and they are still going strong, as new. So environmentally great. Excellent investment for studio workhorse quality headphones. They are not Stax or Grado and if you want a really HI Fi headphone for Mixing etc. the ... Beyer DT 250's are a great tracking headphone, that I use for recording. Pros and cons of the beyer DT250 headphones.
Second set of beyer headphones i have owned, i have tried the DT100 versions and not been impressed by the sound quality. On reading various reviews on the DT250 set i was keen to buy some. I had wanted the 250 ohm model, however i was sold the 80 ohm set. I would not call them loud headphones, i have a set of shure srh 440 which are a lot louder. I had bought them for monitoring vocals, they are deficient in the upper mid frequencys an important area for voice work. This did show up in a plot of their frequency response, the shure's are not as open as these and lack the fine detail. For listening to big bands and orchestras they let you hear a lot, problem is they make vocals sound thin and gutless. From this review it sounds like i hate them but i dont, they are good headphones and very ... Top sound quality...70's look.
Very please with the audio quality - the bass is well defined and rounded the mids are very impressive and the high too are clear and crisp - not colourful not for bass angry hip hoppers perhaps just critical headphones at their very best. They offer decent isolation too, and very comfortable and light - the cable is a bit heavy tough...but of good quality. ...now that 70's look might put off some - but these are object of substance. Very happy with these for mixing purposes.
I dont have a lot of experience of proper headphones but these were a huge step up for making mixes work. I bought them after reading some reviews in Sound on Sound magazine where they were recommended as decent headphones for mixing. And I have not been disappointed. Very happy with these. Lots of clarity that was missing before for me. I can hear the effect of subtle EQ changes that eluded me before.I dont have a lot of experience of proper headphones but these were a huge step up for making mixes work. I bought them after reading some reviews in Sound on Sound magazine where they were recommended as decent headphones for mixing. And I have not been disappointed. Very happy with these. Lots of clarity that was missing before for me. I can hear the effect of subtle EQ changes that eluded me before.

Fantastic monitor headphones
Recommended by a pro, I am very glad I bought these headphones. I use them for monitoring music from a keyboard and they give a brilliantly clean sound throughout all registers. Don't expect any muffling, bass boosting or rounding of the sound, these are clean as it comes.
