    Light up a good idea

    Easy to use and versatile for a variety of play options that include learning and invention at the same time. John Adams Hot Wires has the same components as Cambridge BrainBox, its predecessor presumably. It remains a good toy despite the competition from other similar products on the market. It is sturdy, spares are available and it is likely to last for generations of children (and their adults) despite the move to electronics being more 'micro' orientated now.

    Best toy money can buy

    This is by far the best toy we ever purchased for our sons, now age 14 and 17. We’ve had the set for approximately 9 years and it has been used consistently over the years. Remarkably it still has all its components - mostly due to the fact that they enjoyed playing with it so much they didn’t want to lose any parts (but also due to the well thought out packaging which allows you to put it away quickly and neatly and instantly see if a piece has gone astray). My eldest son who is now studying A level physics even used it recently when learning about capacitors and he says it was also useful to him when studying GCSEs! He declares it to be the most useful and the best “toy” he ever owned. It really does span the ages. It was easy enough for him to use safely alone,age 7 when he was ...

    Great bit of learning kit!

    Got this for my 5 year old and he loves it, all the different things he can make, whenever we make a circuit with the led or lamp we have to wait until it’s dark to prove it works, and best thing is he doesn’t realise he’s actually learning from it as it just fun too him!

    Super quality product

    I found the kit very good quality and very easy to use and build circuits, brilliant for kids too. However some of the experiments were repetitive with similar results. But for teaching children the principles of electricity and building circuits, it’s fantastic and would keep them entertained for hours.
