Great value for ideal camp or yard hatchet
Extremely good value with carbon steel head which the end-user will always have to sharpen, finish, and maintain. I've already put an edge on it and it's fine for processing firewood. I possess 3 expensive Gransfors Bruck axes in different sizes but I don't think the Draper will be inferior with what I want to do with it. Added bonus, the helve is a nicely grained American hickory which needs to be drilled for a hanging lanyard and de-varnished prior to some boiled linseed oil treatment. Much better than comparable offerings out there with abominations like fibre glass handles. I don't know how long it will perform, but an axe is one of the easiest tools to repair and maintain, so absolutely problem-free.
