The poacher works well and makes good eggs, short time you can keep runny or longer for hard. The only thing that lets this product down is an exceptionally flimsy handle that droops and bends when you have water and eggs in the pan. The metal is really too thin at the flange where it is riveted - even some washers would spread the load a little. The handle also gets very hot so you will need to take care and use a glove or dishcloth to stop burning your fingers. The buttons on the cups are screwed on so they can work loose, so do these up tight. These also get very hot - not much you can do about this as they are obviously being steamed, but care is required to stop burned fingers here as well. Generally pretty good vfm and better than many I have seen in the shops, but with some provisos above.Read full review

It is cheap, flimsy and does the job you would expect it to, but my need for such has changed. I found it awkward to use, often scalding my fingers extracting the eggs from the unit. It was tiresome to clean, and I ended up using the base to fry the eggs with coconut oil. I ceased this practice having been told by a doctor the eggs and oil were contributing to bad cholesterol levels. I now use 2 Chicks egg white added to a smoothie, uncooked. This item now languishes in a drawer.

That the old fashioned way we used to poach eggs and they keep their shape, unlike pouring them into boiling water or exploding them in a microwave!
