Soak up any excess liquid with a clean, dry cloth, then spot-clean the area with a fabric upholstery cleaner following the instructions on the bottle. Velvet can have a distinct appearance, in natural light it tends to shimmer more, whereas in artificial lighting indoors, it tends to look more subdued. The colour of velvet may change if you stroke it in different directions, to maintain consistency, stroke the velvet in one direction with an open palm.
