This creates a broad palette of dozens of different unsaturated fatty acids. The most important fatty acids are the Omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA, which come from algae oil. They are present in significant quantities, so that 1 daily dose is already good for the heart, brain and eyes. The added vitamin D in an average dose means that 1 daily dose is also good for muscle function, bones and the immune system.
Oil made from algae is the only oil on earth that contains the same Omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA as fish oil. This is not surprising when you consider that oily fish species depend on eating algae or eating small fish that have eaten algae. The taste of the oil lends itself to use in yogurt, for example, but also to take straight from the spoon. No chance of fishy taste or burping.
